that in Ohio you have only a two-year Statute of
Limitations to bring a lawsuit after an
automobile accident. If you do not hire an
attorney and file the suit to protect your
rights within the first two years, you will lose
your right to any settlement or judgment as a
result of your accident. It is very important
that you immediately contact an attorney to
protect your rights after any accident or
injury.
Personal Injury terms:
- Medical Payment Coverage -
The automobile insurance policy will specify
this ,usually $5000, to cover immediate
medical needs of any injured party
- Subrogation - An insurance
company can go after the party who caused
the accident to recover their expenses for
medical bills and payouts to the injured
party
- Doctor Bills - Issued by
any medical provider who performed services
as a result of the accident. These are all
included in the settlement negotiations.
- Pending Settlement - Your
attorney will keep you advised of any offers
made to settle your case while it is going
through the first two years of negotiation
and after any litigation is filed on your
behalf
- Statute of Limitations -
In Ohio, you will have only two years to
settle your case, or you must file a lawsuit
in order to not lose your right forever to
any recovery from the automobile/vehicle
injury
